Georgina
Marie Buck Perez Weasel, 75, died after a long battle with
cancer at the Long Term Care Center, Havre, Montana on September
14, 2011. Her wake will be on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the
Ft. Belknap Agency gym at 5:00 pm, with Rosary at 7:00pm.
Funeral service at 10:00 am on Monday September 19, 2011 with
Burial at the Hi-way Church, Kirkwood Funeral Home of Malta is
in charge of funeral arrangements.Georgina was born to Thelma Buck at the old Fort Belknap Agency Hospital, on July 20, 1936. She attended Harlem public schools. She married Richard K. Weasel Sr., on January 22, 1957, in Chinook. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, auntie, and home maker. She cooked for various cafes and tribal departments, and worked for the Harlem Public School as a Kindergarten Aide, Fort Belknap Police Department as Dispatcher, and Neighbor Youth Corps (NYC) as Foreman in the summers and 20 years of government service as a Cook for the Indian Health Service. Her cooking was well known throughout Fort Belknap and Harlem area; she placed second at the Harlem Seed Show, for her pie baking abilities. She crafted homemade Indian dolls of various sizes; she sewed her husband’s American Legion Post No. 110 vests and the Harlem Wildcat State Basketball team’s vests, as well as her children clothes. She was famous for her breakfast sandwiches (McWeasel’s). A lifelong fan of the Mighty Harlem Wildcats, she loved to play BINGO, and video gambling machines at the Fort Belknap Casino, and was an avid Fort Belknap Casino Senior Day attendee. She was a very devoted wife to Richard; where ever dad went, mom was right by his side. She was proud of and loved all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always asking about what they were doing and where they were at.
She is survived by her sons Benny Rider, Rick (JoJimy) Weasel, Ft. Belknap Agency, Michael (Cindy) Weasel, Great Falls, MT, daughters Pam Azure, Gena Weasel, Bernadette (Bede) Weasel, Ft. Belknap Agency, sisters Bernadine Buck, Ft. Belknap Agency, Kathleen (Kass)Perez, Harlem, MT, brothers Leslie (Dusty) Buck, Ronan, MT, Franklin R. (Randy) Perez, Harlem, MT. She has 28 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Thelma Buck, Julian and Melvina Perez, husband Richard, daughter Carol Mel, brother Ronald Perez, sisters Lorena (Tootie) Buck Bacon & Rosella Birdtail, Aimee Bear, brothers John & Joe Bear, Uncles Charles, Joe, Walter Buck, Raymond John, Aunt Ruby Rock FirstChief, niece Linda Bacon and lifelong friends Ernest and Glorian Crantz.
