MALTA-Agnes
O. Lowney, 90, a homemaker, died Monday, Dec. 12, at the
Phillips County Hospital of natural causes with her family by
her side.Graveside side services will be in the spring of 2012 in the Malta Cemetery. Cremation has taken place by the Hi-Line Crematory. Condolences for the family may be left at www.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com. Kirkwood Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of arrangements.
Aggie is survived by Mike Lowney, Dan (Silvia) Lowney all of Malta; granddaughters, Shauna (Keith) Simanton Dubbin of Princeton, Minnesota, Amanda (Tom) Courts, Roxanne (Clint) O’Connor, both of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Katie (Trevor) Simser of Malta; four great grand-children.
She was preceded in death by her parents Neils and Marie (Jensen) Olson, husband, Patrick J. Lowney, daughter-in-law Bonnie Lowney, three brothers, Christian, Jens, and Fred Olson, sister, Jenny (Olson) Carlson.
Aggie was born Sept. 21, 1921 in Rural Phillips County the daughter of Neils and Marie (Jensen) Olson. She attended a country school thru the 8th grade, at which time she worked the family farm thru the depression and war years. After meeting Patrick they were married and moved to Butte, of this union two sons were born, Mike and Dan. With the untimely death of Patrick, she returned to Malta to be with family and raise her sons. She worked in various restaurants “slinging hash” as she would say. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, reading books about Montana, sewing Blue Jean Quilts, her daily walks with Cora, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and being a good neighbor.
