MALTA-Elizabeth “Sue” (Hoagland) Berg, 66, a homemaker, passed away on July 8th 2010 after a courageous three year fight with lung cancer and emphysema at the Phillips County Hospital.
Viewing will be held at Kirkwood Funeral home on Sunday from Noon until 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Monday, July 12th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Malta Cemetery, with fellowship to follow at the church basement. Sue was born in Malta, to Petrus and Elizabeth (McPhee) Hoagland on October 1, 1943. She lived her life in Malta and Whitewater. She was a mother to three children and farmer's wife. She graduated from Malta High in 1961. In her younger years, she worked at the Legion Plunge and Murray’s Rexall Drugstore. She married Howard Berg April 1, 1969 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She spent her time raising her family and caring for her aunts and uncles, whom she dearly loved. She also loved playing cards and visiting; and, taking many road trips to Whitewater.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Berg of Malta, son, Joe, daughter-in-law Jamie, granddaughters Brittany, Brooklyn, Emma, Faith and Grace and grandson Christian of Wallace, ID, daughter’s, Ann Remely of Las Vegas, NV and Lori, son-in-law Scott, grandson Peyton, granddaughter Sidney Meeks of Malta; one brother Aden (Ann) Hoagland of Somers, MT. Other survivors also include many nieces, nephews and cousins and very special Aunt Doris Johnson and special friend, Gayle Stahl.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ramona, Anna Jane (Bob)
Stenswick, Marlene (Don) Hofeldt; brothers Jim and Bill Hoagland.
