-Former Malta resident,
Kenneth D. “Kenny” Freestone, 74, a Navy Veteran and retired J.R.
Simplot truck driver, died Wed. Jan. 20, 2010, of natural causes.
Memorial graveside services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 21, 2010 at
the
Hillside
Cemetery
in Dodson. Kirkwood Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of local

Survivors include his sisters, Gladys Olson and Shirley (Jack) Reynolds,
brother, Danny Daniels all of Malta; brother Ted (Edda) Freeman of
Billings; and his nephews & nieces and their families in Montana and
North Dakota along with his many friends in Montana and Idaho.
Kenny was born August 25, 1925 at
Zortman
,
Montana
the son of Jesse J. and Ida J. (Charette) Freestone and was raised in
Phillips County; attending schools in Zortman, Pierre Indian School and
Flandreau Indian School in South Dakota. In 1955 56 he worked for
Sinclair Oil and Gas Co., (Seismograph Crew) from
Oklahoma
. He than enlisted in the Navy in 1957, serving for 4 years on the USS
Piedmont (AD17), when he was honorably discharged in April of 1962.
Shortly after he moved to Burley,
Idaho
to work for the J.R. Simplot Potato Co. which he retired from. He
visited his sisters and families once a year on his vacations, and got
to know his nephews & nieces during their growing up years. He
leaves many wonderful friends in
Montana
and
Idaho
.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess & Ida Freestone,
brothers Donald (Turk); Lenny; and Beezie Freestone.
