Fauth, 86, a WWII Veteran and retired Postmaster, died Tuesday, June 01, at the Phillips County Hospital of natural causes.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 5 at the Malta Assembly of God Church. The family will receive friends at the Kirkwood Funeral Home on Friday at 7:00 P.M. Interment will be in the Malta Cemetery with military honors. Memorials may be made to the Phillips County Ministerial Association P.O. Box 795 or the Malta Gideon’s P.O. Vickhammer, Darlene Feldhege, Tami (Ross) Christofferson, Melodee (Sean) Kavanaugh all of Malta, Becky Sorenson of Nampa, Idaho; brothers, Elmer
Fauth, Vern Fauth both of Great Falls, Les Fauth of California; sister Aldina Carroll of Great Galls; 20 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Harry Lenard Fauth was born April 30, 1924 in Woodworth, North Dakota, the son of Emanuel and Emilia
(Beitz) Fauth. The family homesteaded to Fuhrman, north of Glasgow, when he was only two years old. He had nine brothers and sisters. He attended the Fuhrman School through the 8th grade. After his school he worked the family farm until entering the Marines in October of 1943. Harry fought in battles in Saipan, Tinian, Iwo Jima and Guam. While on ship to the South Pacifica a buddy lead him to Christ. He returned to the Glasgow area after his discharge. While teaching Sunday school he met Stella Bucher who later became his bride on June 25, 1952 in Glasgow. Harry worked in Glasgow,
Opheim, and Larslan area as Postmaster, bus driver and pastored various churches. He retired in 1989 and moved to Malta in 1991 where he remained active in the Phillips County Ministerial Association and the
Gideons. His ministry of “Grandpa Stories” has been heard all over the country. He enjoyed gardening and visiting his many friends.
