George Hoynes was one of the most decent men I have ever met. I will never forget his kindnesses to my children, stopping to talk with them, oiling their trykes, just always treating them so special. George and Edna were the best neighbors one could ever want and their friendship has remained a wonderful memory of the years that we lived in Malta. He leaves a legacy of kindness. God bless his soul. Much love to Edna and Gayle.

Rob was always impressed with George at Big Flat meetings. He could introduce every person and never forget a name!

I deeply admired George's honesty and integrity. He was a gifted man and I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with George while he was manager at Big Flat Electric Co-op. He will be dearly missed.

The first time I met George, he was rescuing my garbage can lid for me. A sample of his kindness to everyone.
After my husband died, I bought a lot at Country Roads to be near to George and Edna. They always made me feel very welcome. Edna and I could remember old times, teaching together in Malta. George was always there to help with any problems.
He was truly a very special person.
