V. Peigneux, 83, a school teacher and homemaker, died Tuesday, June 02,
2009, at the
Hi-Line
Retirement
Center
of natural causes.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 5, at the Kirkwood
Memorial Chapel in
Malta
. Interment will be in the
Malta
Cemetery

There will be a reception at the V.F.W. following the graveside
services. Kirkwood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her sons, Joe (
Marion
) Peigneux, Ed (Debbie) Peigneux, Larry (Mary) Peigneux all of
Malta
, Gene (Sherry) Peigneux of Billings; daughters, Eileen Orcutt of
Ft.
Collins, Colorado, Joanne Cebulski of Malta; sister, Irene Stout of
Harlem; 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren.
Ethel was born November 6, 1925 on a farm 10 miles from
Climax
,
Sask.
,
Canada
, the daughter of William J. and Violet (Dahlman) Kalkman. The family
moved to Turner,
Montana
when she was 12. She graduated from
Turner
High School
and attended
Northern
Montana
College
for a teaching certificate. She taught different schools in the Hogeland
area during the war. She married Joseph R. Peigneux on November 28, 1947
in Havre. They farmed and ranched in the
Regina
area where she also taught school. They retired from the farm in 1978
and moved to
Malta
in 1980. Ethel enjoyed reading and visiting with family and friends. She
was a past president of the Malta V.F.W. Auxiliary.
