, formerly of Saco, passed away September 12, 2009 at St. John’s
Lutheran Home in
Billings
.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 15, at
The Kathy Lillis Chapel on the Campus of St. John’s Lutheran
Ministries. Burial will be at the Reitan Cemetery North of Saco with a
Graveside service at 4:00 P.M.

Edna was born on November 20, 1930 in Columbus, MT. She graduated from
high school there and went on to join the United States Air Force. Upon
her discharge, she pursued her degree in education, graduating from
Eastern
Montana
College
in
Billings
.
Edna taught for a number of years until she married Helmer Bakke in July
1970. She joined him on the farm North of Saco where they lived
until moving to
Malta
and later to
Billings
due to failing health.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband Helmer; and brothers
John and Helga. She is survived by brothers Norman (
Lorraine
) Anderson of Columbus and Arnold (Mary Lou) Anderson of Terry;
sister-in-law, Mollie Emmons of Saco; numerous nieces and nephews,
including special nephew Phil Emmons of
Billings
; and foster daughter Jamie Lauckner of
Fort
Peck
