Malta
.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 4 at 2:00 pm in the
Dodson
High School
gym with graveside services at the
Hillside
Cemetery
in Dodson. Viewing will be Wednesday from 9 A.M. until 8 P.M. at the Kirkwood
Funeral home in
Malta
. A reception follows the graveside at the
Dodson
Lutheran
Church

Clifford
is survived by his wife Betty (Schwenke) Munson of Malta; sons: Terry (Kathy)
Munson and Daryl (Rita) Munson of Havre, Dana Munson of Lacey, Washington, Les
(Jan) Munson of Perry, Iowa; Ken (Susan) Munson of Torrance, Calif.; daughters:
Ina (Marvin) Johnson of Sierra Vista, Arizona, and Noreen (Jerry) Sergeant of
Williston, North Dakota; 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brother
Garfield (Pauline) Munson of Helena; sisters: Margaret Peterson of Calif., Iva
(Orville) Paulson of Washington, and Wilma O’Donnell of Minnesota.
Clifford was born April 29, 1916 in
Ada
,
Minnesota
to Oscar and Gina Munson; the eldest of eight children. His family moved to a
farm north of Dodson, in 1919. He graduated from
Dodson
High School
and attended
St.
Olaf
College
in
Northfield
,
Minn.
for 2 years. He then returned to Dodson and bought a farm where he remained
until he retired in 1988. He married Betty L. Schwenke on Nov. 17, 1947 in
Malta
.
Clifford highly enjoyed sports of all kinds; especially attending his
family’s sporting events. He enjoyed farming, reading, playing cards,
traveling, and music. He loved children and was “Grandpa” to many; both
family and non-family.
