Evelyn was born November 6, 1916 at Medicine Lake, Montana the
daughter of Albert and Elise (Brue) Fossum. She graduated from Medicine
Lake High School in 1934 and from Northern Montana College in 1939 with
a Teaching Degree. She taught schools in Cut Bank, county schools near
Reserve and Homestead in the 1940’s. She married Robert Brandt on June
6, 1948 in Plentywood, Montana. They lived in Whitewater from 1957 until
1970 where their children were raised. She worked at the county and high
school library. In 1970 Bob and Evelyn moved to Malta where she worked
as the County Librarian until they both retired in 1980. Bob and Evelyn
moved to Kalispell for a short time until moving to Glasgow in 2002. One
of her highlights in life was going to college as she had many pictures
of her girlfriends and herself at the dorm and taking trips to the
mountains. She maintained their friendship and still kept in contact
with some of her classmates. Evelyn enjoyed cooking, baking and canning
vegetables from Bob’s garden. Always raised flowers in her yard and
took pride in her house plants.
