-Former Malta resident Esther Arleta (Dell) Dobson, 96,
passed away on Monday August 24, 2009 at
Boswell
Hospital
,
Sun City
,
Arizona
, of natural causes.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 2, at the
Malta
Cemetery
. There will be a reception for the family and friend at the Little
White Church following the services. Condolences may be left at www.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com.
Kirkwood Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include her daughters, A. Anne (Larry) Daughters, J. Elaine
Kvamme; son, Daniel J. (Suzi) Dobson; all of
Peoria
Arizona
; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death
by eldest son Lee and husband Norris “Pete”.
Arleta was born June 3, 1913 in
Kansas City
,
Missouri
. Arleta married Norris “Pete” Dobson on Aug. 8, 1931. They
moved to
Malta
in 1934. During World War II, they moved to
Tacoma
,
Washington
where Pete worked in the shipyards.
They moved back to
Malta
in 1945. They owned & operated Dobson Motors and Implement.
They farmed for 30 years in the
Malta
area & “retired” to their cattle ranch in
Winnett
,
MT
for 15 years.
She
was blessed with a good family life. She was very musically
inclined and played violin at church, dances, and in our family evening
hoedowns. She worked with husband, Pete in the
automotive business in
Malta
and on their Winnett Ranch.
Due to Pete’s illness, their children moved them to
Glendale
,
AZ
where they resided at Glencroft Retirement until Pete’s death.
She moved in with daughter, Elaine after Pete’s death.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved
life and her family dearly.
